Oscar 2020 Nomination For Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's Documentary, American Factory
Netflix had recently roped in the former President of the United States and First Lady, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, to produce a documentary called the American Factory. This development was in sync with Netflix’s partnership with the Obamas. Now, it is being heard that the much-in-news documentary could get an Oscar 2020 nod. Yes, it is believed that the American Factory is expected to be nominated in the Best Documentary category at the Oscars that will take place in February, coming year,

What is the film about, you ask? Well, American Factory chronicles a glass factory run by a Chinese billionaire in Ohio. Premiered at the Sundance Festival, the documentary has received glorious reviews from critics and fans alike. Reviews ranged from “eye-opening” look at the culture clash between Chinese and American workers to “stirring, timely, beautifully shaped” story that chronicles economic challenges in the modern day economy.

The Obamas and Netflix signed a big production deal last year. The idea was to create original content, be it, shows, films or documentaries. After the Glass Factory they have hopped on to an adaptation of Michael Lewis's book, The Fifth Risk.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s TV show, The Apprentice, has been nominated for 2 Emmy Awards, never an Oscar. This is the first time a world leader’s production will be nominated in any category at the Academy Awards.
